First Fridays with the Gray Kangaroo at 2424 Sudios in Philadelphia, 10/02/09

"Instance, Instants, Distance is the first Friday opening for 2424 Studios. Featuring a wide variety of contemporary artwork from some of Philly’s most talented new artists, tonight is sure to be full of excitement. Exhibits include video, photography, sculpture, paintings, installation, and performance art. Sponsoring the event is Gray Kangaroo Personal Liquor Filters, based out 2424 Studios. We too will be introducing a piece from our own fresh work: “The Vodka Diet” as well as the unveiling of our new original drink The Fishtown Tea Party.

Instance, Instants, Distance is Friday, October 2nd from 6-9 p.m., with POST openings October 3rd and 4th from 12-6 p.m. at 2424 Studios in Fishtown.

2424 is located on the corner of York and Gaul Streets. It is easily accessed from the Berks stop on the Blue Line or any of the five bus stops along York and Frankford Avenues. The area has ample street parking, and has quick and easy access to mass transit from., the El, I-95, as well as various shops, many restaurant selections, and Center City Philadelphia.

Drink-A-Que with the Phenomenauts, AKAs and Maldroid

GK sponsored a Drink-A-Que for the guys before their show at the 941 Theater and premiered our new Vodka Diet Drink which we would call "Leprechaun Piss" but there's already a drink called that, so we had another name, but forgot it. Do you remember it?

Anyway the drink is great the recipe is:

Filtered Vodka
Fresh Squeezed Grapefruit
Blended Mint

When we served it it was on the back porch out of a big plastic jug so we used regular grapefruit juice in addition to the fresh squeezed stuff and loads more vodka to make larger servings, but in a bar or at home it would be served as a martini. It's a very nice drink, like a vodka Mojito with no sugar!
